Can someone help me identify my gold coin?
I was given a coin a few years ago that appears to be gold. On one side it has what looks like the baby Jesus in a manger with a tiger looking at the baby. On the other side there is scripted lettering with a D and a I intertwined. I’m not sure if the D or I come first or what they mean. On the side of the coin are the words “SAINT MARCHE CHRISTMAS”.
There were no other papers or words with this coin. I’m trying to figure out what it is, where it comes from and yes any value it may have. I’d like to insure my valuables so I’m trying to figure out what is worth insuring before jumping into it.
If anyone can help me or even tell me where I could go to find about about the coin (ie can I check coin value at a jewellers?) I’d appreciate it. Thank you!
You can check with a couple of jewelers. The medal itself may not be of any value other than the material it is made of.
