Hi there, I have a old gold coin that i found amongst my great-grandfathers things and after a little bit of investigation i have come to believe that the coin comes from Israel and have seen some Herodian coins that are similar but none that are exactly it.The picture on the front is what i keep seeing in Israeli/Herodian coins in various different styles/sizes etc but none exactly the same. The back appears to have a Laurel Chaplet around the edge of the coin with again what appears to be a
picture of a man with something that i cant make out next to him and possibly a ’1′ underneath the picture and definitely an ‘F’ next to it. I have a photo of the front and the back please email me and i will send them across. If you have any idea’s i could follow, know what the coin is oranything, all help and information is greatly appreciated! Thankyou Fugel.
It may be a token, or a replica of some coin, or it may be an actual ancient coin. I am not familiar with the coin, but you should check with the people at the links as I am sure someone will know more than I do. I hope that helps.
