Cerified or Raw bullion coins?
I am just starting to collect gold bullion coins, the coins come in two varieties, either raw or certified, certified coins are a couple buck more expensive. I figured with gold coins, whats the difference right? It says the weight and purity of the gold right on the coin.
Counterfeit coins do exist, so people will pay more for a certified coin. Unlike people, all coins are not created equal, and the higher graded coins are worth more to most people. Proof coins will also carry a slight premium. I hope that helps.
